Laima Žeimienė develops two very different styles and genres of painting. The first one is photographic precision images of animals, which require not only knowledge of technique, but also great care. The artist herself says:
"I am drawn to the pure earthiness, the fleshly form, the animalism. I don't pull my characters out of the realm of supernatural fantasy, I don't try to transcend reality to achieve the extraordinary. In my laboratory, I "grow animals hair by hair". I try to paint the tiniest details, barely visible to the eye, with microscopic consistency, just photographically. On canvas, I recreate a natural existence, a perfect creation of nature - an animal."
The second strand of her work is cast abstraction, which also seeks to reveal natural phenomena, but in a completely different way:
"The colourful culture, philosophy, meditative practice and proximity to nature of the Far East inspired another theme in my paintings - flow. The paint is poured freely, flows untouched and pools to reveal hidden shapes, colours and textures. The unrestricted flow of colour and controlled chance create a work that depicts nature and its phenomena. I call this way and technique of painting a meditation, where the process itself, the direct experience, is everything: here and now."
