More about this artwork

In this vibrant painting, at the left side, there's the prominent head of a Minotaur with a serene, almost contemplative expression, painted in vivid shades of orange and gold against a shadowy, tumultuous background of blues and grays. Its large, pointed horns stretch upwards, contrasting sharply with the softer facial features. The middle of the artwork is a tumult of warm, fiery reds and oranges that suggest a muscular torso, blurring into more abstract forms and strokes of white and purple that complicate the figure. Toward the right, these colors blend into a second figure, this one more ethereal and less defined, rendered in purples and pinks that starkly contrast with the bold, earthy tones of the Minotaur. The background appears stormy, with swirling dark blues and occasional upward strokes of brighter colors, hinting at chaos or conflict. The overall mood is intense and enigmatic, inviting the viewer to ponder the interaction or duality between the two contrasting figures.

Artist

I was born in Panevėžys district, in the village of Stultiškės.  Since 1974 I have been actively participating in group exhibitions and organizing personal exhibitions. Since my early work, I have been interested in extraterrestrial worlds and visions. The aim of my work is to free the viewer's imagination and immerse him/her in unseen spaces, to involve the viewer in the world of my imaginary vision.

My work is inspired by self-analysis, by the human relationship to the world and to oneself. I rely solely on my own imagination, experiences and personal philosophy of life. My paintings are visual narratives, interwoven with mysterious stories, fairy tales, myths.  The canvases are dominated by a palette of warm colours, peace and harmony.

In 2005 she was awarded the status of Artist.
