More about this artwork

This monochrome artwork features a surreal and intricately detailed scene. At the center, a woman stands, dressed in a long, floral-patterned dress, holding a string with floating, transparent bubbles. Adjacent to her is a peculiar, oversized gramophone with its horn extending towards the bubbles. The background is filled with dark, swirling patterns and decorative motifs, including floral elements and ambiguous, fantastical shapes that add a dreamlike quality to the scene. The overall atmosphere is one of whimsy and mystery, evoking a sense of gentle motion and quiet contemplation.

Artist

Jūratė Sližytė (Slyžė)

„Creativity is a constant observation of the world, the transformation of accumulated sensations through one's personal prism into concrete material. During the work process, the thought, the vision becomes a specific object or work, which becomes the connection between the creator and the viewer.

To create art means to study diligently, to improve, to search for new forms of expression throughout one's life, to try to achieve one's "Truth" and to never stop. That "Truth" is usually very simple, but the road to it is long and often winding.”

Jūratė works with various graphic techniques, water-colours, acrylic, creates various objects, also from recycled materials. Every artist has their own philosophy when creating their works.
