More about this artwork

The painting shows an abstract composition, vividly playing with shades of blue, gray, and touches of yellow. The colors blend fluidly into each other, suggesting a dreamy, nebulous form that could resemble a cluster of celestial clouds or an ethereal landscape. White speckles reminiscent of distant stars scatter across the darker areas, enhancing the cosmic illusion. The soft edges and the merging of colors evoke a sense of vastness and continuity, hinting at infinite expanses. The painting’s gentle gradients and subtle textures create a soothing and introspective ambiance.

Artist

Watercolour is a big part of my life. Just like in life, it is impossible to predict everything and plan every moment. Every brushstroke and every drop of paint is full of secrets and surprises, you never know what is waiting for you.

This technique is quite difficult and capricious. It takes skill, patience and consistency to unlock its possibilities and subtleties. But that's what fascinates me about watercolour. The ability to express feelings in water and the colours that melt in it is enchanting and bewitching. The charm of watercolour, its spell, never leaves you, never leaves you alone...

In 1986 I graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where I studied interior design and architecture. After that I worked a lot in mixed watercolour and pastel techniques. After a while, I turned to architecture and spent many years in this field. When I was designing, I always felt how much I missed watercolour, that free, flowing touch, and I always dreamed of going back to it, and I did.

I am again exhibiting in Lithuania and abroad. In the last few years I have participated in international watercolour exhibitions in Peru, Vietnam, Finland, Japan.
