More about this artwork

The artwork reveals an intriguing interplay of textures and colors. Dominated by rich, deep shades of blue, the painting features a dynamic composition of various abstract forms and layers. The upper section of the painting portrays a turbulent, perhaps even celestial, atmosphere, with hints of dark red and purple bleeding into the predominating blue. Below this, a vivid streak of bright orange cuts across the piece, injecting a burst of energy amidst the cooler tones. In the central area, a swath of textured blue, resembling water or a marbled surface, draws the eye with its intense pigmentation and intricate details. This striking blue possibly represents a body of water or a deep expanse of sky, contributing to the overall sense of depth and vastness in the painting.Descending further, the artwork becomes increasingly complex with black markings that create a sense of chaos or entanglement, almost like a densely written script or a cluster of wires. These markings rest upon a dark blue background, enhancing the mystery and textural interest. At the very bottom, a solitary block of blue stands out sharply against the surrounding darkness, perhaps symbolizing a focal point or a moment of clarity in the dense, mysterious landscape above. The piece as a whole conveys a feeling of longing or searching, with its dark tones and bursts of bright color suggesting both depth and emotional intensity. The use of layering and varied textures adds to the enigmatic quality of the work, inviting viewers to delve into their own interpretations of the visual elements.

Artist

The artist's credo:

"Painting is a necessity and a vocation for me, but art is not my religion. I am a human being first and a painter second. A painter cannot create in isolation from reality. A painting has to have a need and a desire ... I am, therefore I paint. I love, I paint ... therefore ... I am."

As the artist herself says, an artist cannot break away from reality, and this loose connection with reality is beautifully reflected in her expressive landscapes. The artist pays great attention to the sky and its elements, the low horizon lines giving way to the drama in the skies. The impression is further enhanced by the reflections of the sky on the surface of the water and the soft, gentle shapes of the clouds.
