Aleksandras Kapustinas is a decorative artist who graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Arts in 1976. With a solid foundation in professional training, he began developing his career in the arts, participating in exhibitions and sharing his enthusiasm for visual art with a broader audience. His first public exhibition was held in Vilnius in 1980, and he later presented his works in Kaunas in 1982.
Now based in Vilnius, Kapustinas draws profound inspiration from the imagery and mood of the old town. The historic allure and evocative atmosphere of Vilnius are integral to his work, shaping and inspiring his creative pursuits. This deep connection to the city permeates the subjects he chooses to portray.
In more recent years, Kapustinas has devoted himself to landscape painting, using the traditional pastel-on-paper technique. His works highlight the distinct character of Vilnius as well as various scenes from Great Britain, reflecting his admiration for European cityscapes and landscapes through a sophisticated artistic perspective.
Kapustinas’s landscapes encourage viewers to immerse themselves in the nostalgic mood and enduring beauty of the places he paints. Each piece reveals not only his technical mastery but also his personal captivation with the unique spirit of historic and picturesque settings.
