Nomeda Balasevičiūtė was born in Kaunas (and lives there all the time), studied at the music school, then at the Art school of M. Martinaitis. From her early years she had a dream to illustrate children's books and fulfilled it.
In 1988 Nomeda graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts ( previously State Art Institute of Lithuania) and started drawing illustrations for the magazine "Genys", then for the newspaper "Tukas" meant for children. Later she created a newspaper for her first daughter Jūratė and all other girls of her age and named it "Pepė" that after some time became the magazine "Pepė", which was followed by edition of her own books for children. Not only illustrations but also texts were written by Nomeda.
Currently she gives design lessons at Kaunas College.- institution that provides higher education in the areas of technologies, social sciences, biomedicine, humanities and arts.
At present she is involved in oil painting, but sometimes illustrations have influence on canvases. Besides, she uses other kinds of creation e.g. sculpture - constructive conversations with recyclable things transforming them into unexpected works of art.
