More about this artwork

The painting displays a woman draped in a striking red kimono adorned with a detailed, wave-like pattern, accented with touches of blue and white. A segment of the kimono showcases blue scales, creating a contrast with the rich reds and the geometric red belt that encircles her waist. The woman's posture is turned slightly away, her face in profile, showing straight, grey hair that sharply divides her visage from the vibrant color of her attire. Her hand delicately touches the fabric near her shoulder, suggesting a quiet moment of introspection or appreciation of the garment. The subtle use of colors and the gentle gradations of red to blue imbue the image with a serene yet vivid quality, capturing both the texture of the fabric and the solemnity of the moment.

Professional graphic designer, regularly involved in various projects and book illustrations. She has also completed a Master's degree in Art Therapy, which has only encouraged her to further combine contrasts, i.e. portraiture and abstraction.

Neringa's work often features very familiar lines, silhouettes and angles, but also the unexpected, the freedom of the stain, the spontaneous brushstroke or stroke. All the contrasting combinations allow the artist to be more open to experimentation in her work, to reveal in an original way the themes of loneliness, melancholy, and the relationship with oneself and with others that accompany her work. Neringa's characters often turn away from the viewer or look at this reality with eyes that do not see it, emphasising their self-absorption and that the real action is not outside, but inside them.
