More about this artwork

The painting presents a whimsical and surreal scene, characterized by a mix of Greco-Roman and modern influences. In the foreground, a figure adorned with a floral pattern holds a dove in their hands, looking off to the side. Their head is surrounded by a laurel wreath, emphasizing a classical motif.Behind this figure, another scene unfolds atop ornate columns resembling acanthus leaves which add an ancient and regal element to the setting. On one column, a group of four women stand close together; three of them appear to be singing into microphones that emerge from curly clouds, hinting at an ethereal concert. The woman at the forefront of this group holds a serene expression, her hands gently clasped in front of her.To her side, a smaller figure plays a stringed instrument, perhaps a cello, nestled comfortably atop the column. This character adds a dynamic touch, balancing the composition with movement against the stillness of the singers. The overall atmosphere of the painting is both serene and fantastical, playing with elements of myth, music, and nature in a blend that evokes contemplation and poetic grace.

I was born in Jonava in 1969. I studied at Kaunas St. Žukas Applied Arts Technical School. In 1989 I entered Vilnius Art Academy, graphics specialty. I graduated from the Academy in 1995. Since 1994 I participate in exhibitions. I have organized solo exhibitions in Kėdainiai, Jonava, Kaunas and other cities. I have also participated at international exhibitions in Austria (Linz), Russia (St. Petersburg) and elsewhere. My works are in private collections in Lithuania,  USA and Australia.

In my works, I want to find a dialogue with the audience. Society and personality being in the historical and contemporary, philosophical, theological, mythological meaning. In my works I try to solve problems of life and time peacefully, avoiding expressionism and primitivism. For my artistic expression I chose the graphics - etching, dry needle technique. Black and white opposition I connect into a single texture.
