I was born in 1977 in Šiauliai.
I live in a small village in Bartkuski, in the middle of Lithuania.
I work mostly in spring and summer, when nature comes alive, because it is very important in my life and work. When I am in nature, I experience its vibration with all my senses, its constant stirring, its life. I don't look for a special environment for my motifs, it's everywhere under your feet; all you have to do is to put your eyes down and look at the rustling of the grasses.
In autumn and winter, I like to analyse a selection of wilted flowers, twigs, leaves... To embody in them the transience, the themes of constraint, stagnation, nostalgia.
In my summer work, various herbs, floral motifs, trees, fruits dominate. You won't find wide-open panoramas or fragments of homesteads. I don't look far for a motif, I often look at the little things right here, right under my feet. I'm interested in the rhythm of the wind, the vibrations of the air in the plants, the colour combinations.
I try to convey the feeling of painting in the presence of natural artefacts. I rarely detail the works in the studio, sometimes leaving them sketchy for the sake of a lively impression. This is very important to me.
