More about this artwork

In the artwork "The Young Poet" by Marius Zavadskis, a striking and surreal sculpture captures the viewer's attention with its vivid blue tones and hybrid forms. The sculpture portrays two figures: the main figure is a well-defined male humanoid merged seamlessly at the waist with the body of a quadruped, resembling a horse. This centaur-like creature stands upright, displaying human muscular anatomy that gleams with a metallic luster under the light. The human part of the sculpture is captured in a thoughtful pose, holding a small book or device in one hand, suggesting the act of reading or contemplation.A second, smaller figure, also a blend of human and equine elements, emerges from behind the first. This figure appears more twisted and dynamic, with exaggerated features and a less poised demeanor compared to the primary figure. Both figures share the same intense blue sheen, suggesting a connection beyond their physical attachment—perhaps symbolic of the fusion of nature and human intellect or the dual aspects of a poet's persona, intertwining primal instincts with refined thoughts. The entire piece exudes a sense of motion and introspection, inviting interpretation and reflection.
