More about this artwork

The painting features a delicate, semi-abstract portrait of a face, rendered in what appears to be watercolor and ink. The colors are soft, primarily in shades of blue, purple, and gray, bleeding into each other in a fluid manner. The face is depicted in a minimalist style with bold, black lines defining the contours, eyes, nose, and lips. Uniquely, only half of the face is shown, giving an impression of incompleteness or a moment caught in time.A striking feature of the artwork is the eye, which is detailed with multiple lashes and a gaze that seems to draw the viewer in. Directly above the cheek, there is an ink drawing of a small, whimsical flying insect, possibly a butterfly or a moth, adding a surreal element to the composition. There are also splattered ink drops across the painting, suggesting spontaneity and the interplay of control and chance in the artist's technique. The overall effect is ethereal and dreamlike, inviting introspection about the visible and the hidden aspects of the subject.

In 2011 I completed my bachelor's studies (painting) at the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, in 2013 - I received a master's degree from Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts.

I have been drawing for a long time. Even before I started studying, I discovered an authentic, graphic style and started creating. The empty space of a sheet of paper and black ink made it possible to fulfill all fantasies.

Since I was studying painting, naturally colours appeared in my drawings, I started breaking the rules of academic drawing.

Every drawing is an experience of freedom for me. Freedom to be and create.
