More about this artwork

The painting portrays a bearded man seated, holding a soccer ball between his hands at his lap. He has complex tattoos on his torso and arms, including geometric shapes, stars, and the word "DOST" at the center of his lower abdomen. His expression is solemn and his gaze is direct. Behind him is a net-like pattern, possibly suggesting a goalpost or a netted background. Above his head hang two plaques displaying the numbers "1" and "0", both adorned with small etchings and symbols that could hint at a larger thematic element of scoring or competition. The overall tone of the painting is muted, with grayscale tones dominating, giving the work a somber yet intense atmosphere.

I am an artist from the village of Pavartyčiai, at Radviliškis district, Lithuania. At the moment I am living and creating in the city of Kaunas. My carrier as an artist started after my bachelor's studies, at Šiauliai University, Faculty of Arts, which I graduated in 2005.

I fell in love with dry pastels and pastel pencils, when I was an art student, and I use them to this day. All my drawings are made on a black sheet of paper, and drawing on a black background is special, because you create a light on it, instead of shadows.

Sometimes I feel like a wizard, who can create light in the darkness. I create so many stories about birds, about people, about the sun and the entire galaxies on a black sheet of paper.
