More about this artwork

The painting depicts an intricate network of serpentine forms, intertwined and layered over each other, creating a dense, tactile texture. The serpents are rendered in a lush, dark green hue, with light playing across their scales, giving them a glossy, almost iridescent appearance. This use of color and light enhances the voluminous, almost palpable feel of the coiled bodies. Amidst the tangled mass, the word "SIN" is subtly inscribed, suggesting a thematic connection to temptation or forbidden realms, evoking the Biblical serpent. The dark background contrasts sharply with the vibrant green of the snakes, focusing all attention on the sinuous forms and their mesmerizing, almost hypnotic arrangement.

Artist

I am an artist from the village of Pavartyčiai, at Radviliškis district, Lithuania. At the moment I am living and creating in the city of Kaunas. My carrier as an artist started after my bachelor's studies, at Šiauliai University, Faculty of Arts, which I graduated in 2005.

I fell in love with dry pastels and pastel pencils, when I was an art student, and I use them to this day. All my drawings are made on a black sheet of paper, and drawing on a black background is special, because you create a light on it, instead of shadows.

Sometimes I feel like a wizard, who can create light in the darkness. I create so many stories about birds, about people, about the sun and the entire galaxies on a black sheet of paper.
