More about this artwork

The painting depicts a rustic, weathered wooden door set within a stone archway, hinting at a structure imbued with age and history. The door itself is adorned with black metal hinges stretching vertically, and an old lock hangs from a metal plate, suggesting it might have been locked for a long time. Two small metal rings are attached to the door, perhaps serving as traditional door knockers. A string of leaves hangs over one side of the door, partially trailing over it and adding a touch of nature that suggests the door has long been undisturbed. In front of the door, there is a step made of uneven gray stones, indicating time-worn use. This rustic path appears slightly overgrown, indicating neglect, with patches of grass peeking between the stones. Red poppies sprout randomly near the stone steps and in the lush grass surrounding the area, their bright red blossoms adding a splash of color against the muted tones of the door and stones. The whole scene conveys a serene, yet slightly mysterious and abandoned feel.

Artist

I graduated in ceramics at the Art Institute. However, I have been searching for a long time for the type of art that is closest to my soul. When the path of life led me to the study of Eastern philosophy, I rediscovered Eastern art, the aesthetics of which I had admired since my school days.

For art that has existed for several thousand years, one of the most important principles is the spiritual element. The treatment of the colours and shapes of nature gives harmony and a positive element to the work. The objects depicted appear simple and mundane, while at the same time they reveal the uniqueness of natural phenomena.

I often use short poetic trills - haiku. These are like poetic still frames, capturing the importance of the moment and combining the artistic traditions of several Eastern countries into a whole. I follow the tradition of meditating before picking up the brush, and the whole process of painting is meditation. I hope that the works also convey peace and harmony.
