About the author
Rasa Diemedžio, an artist with a degree in ceramics from the Art Institute, began her career grounded in formal training yet soon undertook a prolonged personal quest to discover an artistic path that truly resonated with her inner world. This exploration eventually brought her to Eastern philosophy, which awakened a deep appreciation for the traditions and aesthetics of Eastern art—an interest rooted in her school days.
Her artistic expression draws considerable inspiration from centuries-old Eastern art forms. Central to Rasa's work is a focus on the spiritual essence, which she regards as a guiding principle. By skillfully working with colors and shapes derived from nature, she strives to construct compositions that evoke harmony and radiate a positive energy. Though her chosen subjects may seem modest or unremarkable at first sight, they serve to investigate and uncover the distinct nuances and beauty found in the natural environment.
Besides her visual creations, Rasa frequently weaves short poetic verses known as haiku into her process. These haiku function as brief poetic glimpses, highlighting the importance of the present moment. By incorporating them, she connects varying Eastern artistic traditions and enriches her work, merging poetry and visual imagery into integrated and harmonious pieces.
Meditation is a fundamental element of Rasa Diemedžio’s creative routine; she meditates prior to painting and views the act of painting itself as a meditative practice. Through this mindful engagement, she endeavors to imbue her works with tranquility and harmony. Her wish is that those who encounter her art will experience the same sense of calm and balanced energy that she feels during creation.
