More about this artwork

The painting depicts a meticulously detailed botanical scene composed of an array of plants, flowers, and berries intricately intertwined. Central to the composition is a lush assortment of greenery, hosting various leaves in different shapes and sizes that bring a sense of depth and abundance. Interspersed among these leaves are clusters of berries, predominantly in hues of red and purple, suggesting ripeness and natural growth. The flora is depicted with a delicate and precise hand, showcasing the artist’s attention to the subtle textures and patterns of each leaf and fruit.Below this verdant canopy, the lower portion of the artwork is adorned with more diverse elements, including flowers and what appears to be strawberry plants, contributing to the rich biodiversity portrayed. These elements are rendered in softer tones, with hints of pink, red, and yellow, providing a beautiful contrast to the predominantly green palette above. What is particularly striking about this piece is the artist’s ability to create a harmonious and almost symmetrical arrangement that feels both wild and carefully curated. This dynamic juxtaposition invokes a sense of nature’s sprawling vitality alongside its delicate beauty.

Gražvydas Andrijauskaitė's field of work is quite broad - from characterful images of animals, cheerful children to mysterious, multi-layered portraits of women, but all of them are united by their meticulous execution, attention to detail and decorative quality. The artist combines her skilful drawing with various ornaments and patterns, but never overdoes it, maintaining elegance and delicacy.

Most of Gražyvda's characters are reminiscent of fairy tale characters, imaginary childhood friends, something familiar and at the same time unseen. All of them are shrouded in mystery, created by the technique of multi-layer printing, but each one of them tells his or her own story through symbolic details.

Since 1997, the artist has successfully participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
