More about this artwork

The painting depicts an elegant arrangement of wildflowers and foliage nestled within abstract, earth-toned shapes that suggest a rugged mountain terrain. Delicate, thin-stemmed flowers in hues of purple, blue, and yellow emerge vividly against a soft background composed of pale yellow and white patches, subtly overlaid with thin, flowing lines that evoke the quiet movement of wind through grass. The impressionistic use of color and form conveys a serene, natural landscape, captured with a sense of gentle precision and a soft, almost ethereal quality.

Representing a wave of young talented painters, she describes her work as "seen and dreamt".

"Seen and dreamt, because you never want to rely blindly on what your eyes see. It is best to see, forget and then remember the vision after it has been passed through you, when it is more of an emotion than a specific image with particular details," says the artist.

Her favourite subjects are landscapes and plants, which she depicts with great love and attention to detail. The landscapes, most of which focus on the nature of the Curonian Spit, reveal the dreamy beauty of the seaside, shrouded in a haze of memories. The landscapes here are bathed in the bright rays of the setting or rising sun, or immersed in soft clouds that separate them from the rest of the world. The strip of land itself is often suspended between the sky and the mirrored surface of the water, like a magical island in infinity.

Most of the paintings are devoted to spring, with the soft, first blossoms shimmering in them, symbolizing, as the artist says, the joy of life itself. The dunes and the meadows at their foot are drowned in them. And perhaps the most charming part of these paintings is the tranquillity they evoke, the ease that we feel in the wild nature. This feeling is also present in the space around them.
