More about this artwork

In the painting, a vividly colorful scene unfolds under a dramatic, blue sky. A gigantic, surreal figure, textured like a mosaic of golden and orange hues, dominates the canvas. This figure, a woman with a fiery red mane of curly hair, blows passionately into a large, red saxophone. Her eyes are closed in a deep expression of concentration or possibly ecstasy. As she plays, droplets resembling clear, blue rain fall from above, merging the realms of music and weather. On one side of her, the background is a collection of irregularly shaped blue squares, from which the rain seems to emanate. The other side mirrors this pattern but in red tones, suggesting a flowing, musical rhythm transforming into a visual cascade. Beneath this striking tableau, a small sandy expanse hosts two figures—vague shapes under an umbrella, seemingly dwarfed and distant, almost an afterthought compared to the dominance of the saxophonist. Their presence introduces a sense of scale and ordinary life contrasting with the fantastical and immense. The overall mood is one of intense emotion and dynamic movement, bridging the senses of sound, sight, and perhaps even touch through the texture and depth of the colors and shapes used.

I was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1964, in the family of actors.

I am a self-taught painter and I often hear comments that my work cannot be assigned to any particular school or trend of painting. I have been painting for as long as I can remember. I had my first solo exhibition when I was 8, and it was held at the theatre where my mother worked. Painting means a lot to me and I enjoy the process immensely, and I am still in search of my unique style.

I have hold several personal exhibitions in various Lithuanian cities.

My paintings have been acquired by collectors in Lithuania, Ireland, Norway, and USA.
