More about this artwork

The painting features abstract representations of cranes, depicted with elongated and graceful lines, creating an intertwined cluster that dominates the canvas. The background is textured, with a blend of muted earthy tones overlaid with patches of corroded blue, giving a sense of aged patina. The strokes portraying the cranes are highlighted with sharp, white outlines that contrast sharply against the dark, moody backdrop. These lines whorl around each other, suggesting both movement and stillness, reminiscent of elegant, statuesque birds standing silently in water. A minimalistic use of color focuses the viewer's attention on the form and linearity of the figures, emphasizing the theme of natural elegance and simplicity.

Help

If the work of Živilė Rudzikaitė - Matuzonienė had to be described in one word, it would be PEACE. Peace not in the sense that everything is broken, but peace as assurance, as complete trust in one's inner voice, which comes from a strong relationship with oneself and the surrounding environment. This is evidenced by bold, solid color spots, clear, strong outlines of the drawing and very sparingly, moderately used details. There are hardly any of them, but each one is important and significant.

The author herself says that she doesn't want to limit herself to one style or theme. Every cycle of her work is like a rebirth, looking for ever new angles, new ways to express inner experiences. Nevertheless, you will soon notice that the most common themes of his work are nature, its natural transformations, and man's relationship with it. The artist herself lives surrounded by nature, so there is no need to look far for inspiration. In the constant cycle of nature, she discovers the most diverse moods and experiences.

The strength of the author's paintings is their universality. They record states, transformations that do not change throughout the ages and are recognizable to everyone. Natural landscapes here turn into landscapes of the soul, through which the gaze can wander without getting tired and constantly looking for new interpretations.

In addition to painting, the artist spent a long time studying. She has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from VU (Vilnius University), and a bachelor's and master's degree in fine arts from VDA (Vilnius Art Academy).
