More about this artwork

The painting depicts three elongated, stylized cranes arranged closely together, their forms simplified and abstracted but clearly defined. Each crane appears in a deep, muted brown, with distinct white highlights tracing the curves of their bodies, adding depth and dimension. The background is a subdued gray, softly textured, almost resembling a cloudy sky. The cranes' beaks intersect at the center, where they gently hold a slender, golden yellow rod, creating a focal point that draws the eyes. Below this assembly, a serene blue water-like element stretches horizontally, suggesting perhaps a river or lake viewed from a distance. This use of cool blue contrasts effectively against the warm brown tones of the birds, enhancing the overall contemplative and peaceful mood of the artwork.

Help

If the work of Živilė Rudzikaitė - Matuzonienė had to be described in one word, it would be PEACE. Peace not in the sense that everything is broken, but peace as assurance, as complete trust in one's inner voice, which comes from a strong relationship with oneself and the surrounding environment. This is evidenced by bold, solid color spots, clear, strong outlines of the drawing and very sparingly, moderately used details. There are hardly any of them, but each one is important and significant.

The author herself says that she doesn't want to limit herself to one style or theme. Every cycle of her work is like a rebirth, looking for ever new angles, new ways to express inner experiences. Nevertheless, you will soon notice that the most common themes of his work are nature, its natural transformations, and man's relationship with it. The artist herself lives surrounded by nature, so there is no need to look far for inspiration. In the constant cycle of nature, she discovers the most diverse moods and experiences.

The strength of the author's paintings is their universality. They record states, transformations that do not change throughout the ages and are recognizable to everyone. Natural landscapes here turn into landscapes of the soul, through which the gaze can wander without getting tired and constantly looking for new interpretations.

In addition to painting, the artist spent a long time studying. She has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from VU (Vilnius University), and a bachelor's and master's degree in fine arts from VDA (Vilnius Art Academy).
