More about this artwork

The painting depicts a dimly lit stone archway, creating a tunnel-like effect as it leads into the distance. Soft golden light emanates from hanging street lamps, casting a warm glow that illuminates the rough textures of the cobblestone path and the walls. The arches, adorned with intricate architectural details and sculptural elements, recede into a vanishing point, drawing the viewer's eye through the length of the corridor. Shadows blend into the edges of the arches, enhancing the depth and the mysterious, slightly aged character of this urban scene. The atmosphere is quiet and still, evoking a sense of solitude and the timeless essence of an old town.

In 1976, I graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Arts and acquired the profession of a decorative artist. In 1980 I participated in the first exhibition in Vilnius, and in 1982 - in Kaunas. I currently live and work in Vilnius.

I am fascinated by images of old town. Especially Vilnius impresses me very much due to its atmosphere of the past.

I am presenting here some of my landscape paintings in classic techique: pastel on paper. I made these art works in Vilnius and Great Britain during recent years.
