More about this artwork

Vivid and swirling, the painting captures an abstract explosion of forms and colors. At the center is a dynamic blue shape, resembling an irregular star or a splashing droplet, surrounded by intense reds, purples, and hints of yellow. Patterns and symbols, evocative of glyphs or ancient script, punctuate the composition, etched in white, red, and darker hues, adding a textual, almost narrative quality to the visual fluency of the artwork. The periphery is framed by undulating lines and marbled patterns, suggesting movement and energy emanating from the central burst.

Rimantas Šlipavičius is a stained glass artist who has decorated many interiors in private apartments, houses, administrative buildings, e.g. He has also painted the walls of the National Defence Museum, the lobby of the Rudamina Farm, etc.

The strong influence of stained glass can also be felt in painting. Rimantas Šlipavičius' canvases feature abstract compositions of brightly coloured geometric figures. Bright, pure colours playfully change each other like a kaleidoscope. Sometimes they fall into shimmering mandalas, sometimes they engage in a dialogue with the canonical representatives of modernism. These paintings are perfect for modern interiors.

The artist's paintings have been acquired by collectors and art lovers in the USA, Germany, Great Britain and other countries.

Since 1981, he has had around 30 solo and group exhibitions. All of them in Lithuania - in Vilnius, Klaipėda, Alytus, Šiauliai and other cities. The last exhibition (paintings and stained glass) was held in Vilnius, in the hall of the Union of Architects.
