Artist

Ruta Velykytė is a young and motivated artist from Kaunas.

Her works reveal an interest in the city, its life, and aesthetics.

The paintings depict abstract images of urban structures, spaces, buildings, their surroundings, the interior and details, human-made objects and hints of the figure. The artist is looking for authentic motifs in the city but does not aim to replicate them exactly. She selects the elements, changes them, connects with others, creates her unique vision, leaving the final result open to interpretation.
