More about this artwork

The painting presents a vertically oriented composition segmented into flowing abstract forms and patterns. The dominant colors are shades of blue and gray, punctuated by areas of black, white, and a vibrant spot of red. The upper portion of the artwork features a bright cobalt blue with intricate pale blue symbols and designs that suggest a mechanical or perhaps astrological influence. These motifs resemble gears, stars, and celestial symbols. The central area transitions into swirling patterns of darker and lighter blues, giving an impression of water or currents, intensified by the circuitous, wavy lines that suggest movement and flow. This fluid motif is bordered by a pale gray that smoothly blends into the surrounding areas. A small section near the bottom introduces a stark contrast with a solid red patch, drawing the eye and adding a dynamic burst of color to the otherwise cool palette. The composition overall combines abstract expression with a hint of structured symbolism, possibly exploring themes of technology, nature, and the cosmos.

Rimantas Šlipavičius is a stained glass artist who has decorated many interiors in private apartments, houses, administrative buildings, e.g. He has also painted the walls of the National Defence Museum, the lobby of the Rudamina Farm, etc.

The strong influence of stained glass can also be felt in painting. Rimantas Šlipavičius' canvases feature abstract compositions of brightly coloured geometric figures. Bright, pure colours playfully change each other like a kaleidoscope. Sometimes they fall into shimmering mandalas, sometimes they engage in a dialogue with the canonical representatives of modernism. These paintings are perfect for modern interiors.

The artist's paintings have been acquired by collectors and art lovers in the USA, Germany, Great Britain and other countries.

Since 1981, he has had around 30 solo and group exhibitions. All of them in Lithuania - in Vilnius, Klaipėda, Alytus, Šiauliai and other cities. The last exhibition (paintings and stained glass) was held in Vilnius, in the hall of the Union of Architects.
