About the author
Šarūnė Bartašiūtė Kaupienė is an artist whose passion for creative exploration and personal development fuels her work. She completed her studies in Monumental Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, equipping her with a solid background in large-scale artistic disciplines. Yet her artistic interests extend beyond monumental art; she is equally captivated by the subtlety and intricacy of graphic expression, enjoying projects in both intimate and expansive formats. This versatility enables her to employ a broad spectrum of techniques and styles across her artwork.
Her artistic journey started in early childhood, as she instinctively discovered the world through expressive colors and inventive shapes. Nature has consistently served as a wellspring of inspiration, its vivid scents and shades stimulating her imagination. Motivated by curiosity, she once attempted to create her own fragrance from rose petals. Šarūnė’s creativity has flourished in multiple directions, often surfacing unexpectedly—whether decorating walls at home, molding sand and mud, or sketching on paper and snow, she has always permitted her imagination to wander without restriction.
Šarūnė finds inspiration in a wide array of sources, from literature and music to brief encounters with strangers, and most profoundly, in the shifting colors of nature. Her urge to create accompanies her everywhere; though she currently resides and practices her art in Norway, she is still deeply involved with her craft. As a participating member of the Norwegian Independent Artists Group (NFUK), she takes part in exhibitions and persistently seeks new avenues to express and evolve her creative vision.
For Šarūnė, creativity is inextricable from existence itself—a fluid and ongoing experience defined by lines, colors, emotions, and inventive thoughts. Her art serves as evidence of the ever-evolving nature of creativity and the limitless opportunities it provides for growth and discovery.
