More about this artwork

The painting showcases a small, roughly constructed wooden table, bearing the weight of simple yet evocative objects. A wrinkled, off-white cloth with frayed edges drapes carelessly over the table, partially hanging off the side, overlapping a faded, beige tarp that spills to the floor. On the tablecloth rests a small, stout vase with a muted blue-green hue, filled with delicate, wispy dried flowers, their tiny petals speckling the air with a touch of fragile beauty. To the left of the vase sits a vividly red apple, its glossy surface catching the ambient light, while another apple lies on the far right of the table, its presence more subdued. A third apple is positioned just off the table, on the ground, grouped with a loose gathering of straw or dry vegetation. The backdrop is a rich maroon wall lending warmth and depth, enhancing the stillness and muted color palette of the scene. The light, warm yet subdued, washes over the entire composition, emphasizing textures and the quiet grace of everyday simplicity.

Artist
I admire a piece of shaken seaside sand, a piece of paper or a sheet of canvas, where the day, the thoughts, the winds calm down and... just being. I admire the secrets of a woman, her survival, tameless existence. Either she is blessed or a sinner, she is still protected by love and hope.
I am fascinated by home spaces, details of a cup glowing in the corner. Where darkness and light merge creating something so divine and perfect- something above the morning news and kitchen routines.

I graduated from LSMU in 1983 and work as a neurologist. I have been a member of the Union of Folk Artists since 1984. My teachers are Genoveta Milevičienė, head of the art studio "Saulėtekis", architect, painter Romualdas Šilinskas. And of course, life. I have participated in several solo and national exhibitions. My works have gone to Germany, Norway, the "Aušra" Museum in Šiauliai.
