More about this artwork

The painting depicts three young girls engaged in the joyful act of eating watermelon on a sunny day. The central girl, with a bob cut and faint smile, gently holds a large slice of ripe watermelon, her gaze tenderly fixed on it. To her sides, the other two girls, one with curly hair and the other with ponytails, enthusiastically bite into their watermelon slices, clearly relishing the freshness. They all sit amidst a lush, dappled green backdrop that suggests they are outdoors, possibly in a garden, where the light filters through leaves overhead, casting playful patterns on their faces and clothes. The whole scene captures a sweet, quintessential summer moment, filled with brightness, freshness, and the innocence of childhood.

My name is Ruta Sabalaite Jyde, I became intrested in arts and have been painted from the early childhood and graduated from secondary school with specialization in arts. Although I continued to pursue a career in medicine, art and painting remained my main hobbies and  importand part of my life. Living abroad for long periods I got more time to continue and develop my skills and try new painting techniques. I like to paint portraits ( both people or animals), simple moments of life, abstracts. The paintings are usually very colourful, expressive and optimistic and often with a humorous twist. Most works are made by pallete knife on canvas with oil or acrylic. Paintings were shown in several exibitionsin Sweden, Russia (Moscow), Ukraine and several of them are part of the private collections all over the world.
