More about this artwork

The painting depicts a whimsical scene featuring an anthropomorphic teapot shaped like a plump fish, complete with fins and a charming face. Sporting a warm, golden hue, the teapot has a textured surface that suggests scales, enhancing its fish-like appearance. It smiles gently, with its lid decorated with a small, crown-like ornament. A curled handle mimics a fish’s tail, and the spout is cleverly integrated into its mouth. Below the large teapot-fish, on a checkered, green and brown floor, sits a smaller, similarly styled teacup with a face, mirroring the larger teapot’s design. Surrounding this duo is an assortment of bubbles and spiral shapes, contributing to the playful, fantastical quality of the composition. The entire scene is enveloped in rich earth tones and detailed texturing, evoking a cozy, imaginative atmosphere.

"All my life I have been on a path that leads to the world of colour: art studies at Kaunas St. Žukas Art College, later working in advertising and as interior designer, and as the head of children's art studio.

My world of colours is like a dream, a romantic fantasy land of a naive and sunny childhood," says the author, who creates bright, fantasy paintings, the most common theme of which is the magical relationship between man and nature. In these fairy-tale-like works, the characters cuddle wild animals, smell flower blossoms and adorn themselves with meadow plants. Many of the artist's works are also devoted to purely plant motifs; flowers and herbs are bathed in a mysterious light, artist pictures them in such a way that they seem to have come from another world.
