oil on canvas
Width: 48 cm
My works capture urban landscapes, the cities structures, the architecture of metropolises and the shadows of their history. It is possible to see connection of old and modern architecture, not only in the building forms, but also in the results of human activity as graffiti, shop signs, water towers.
I use texture boldly as a form of expression to reflect the effect of construction. My color palette resembles graphic arts, dominated by white, black, red, and yellow. Expressive strokes are combined with a graphic line, which gives a unique style.
The works depict: images of cities in the USA, Lithuania and other European countries and their interpretations.
Another important creative topic for me is religion. As I work on the restoration of church stained glass, I get a lot of inspiration. Both suffering and peace can be seen in my works, depicting figures from a religious context. The work created with oil paint on canvas or by drawing on various tools on paper.
