More about this artwork

The painting depicts a profile of a woman with her head turned to the side, her gaze directed slightly upward, exuding a contemplative or introspective demeanor. She has deep, richly pigmented skin and full lips that catch light on their contours, accentuating a subtle sense of realism amidst the stylized portrayal. Her hair is dense and voluminous, exploding in a frothy, textured mass that transition in color from deep browns to lighter, earthy tones at the tips, suggesting natural curls. She wears a striking orange headscarf, which not only highlights her hair and facial features but also drapes gracefully around her neck, adding a touch of elegance and color contrast. The scarf's vivid orange shades bleed into more muted tones where shadows fall, creating a lifelike interplay of light and color. Her attire appears to be a deep red or burgundy top, which complements both the headscarf and her skin tone, emphasizing the warm palette of the painting. The background is washed in a pale, muted blend of whites and greens, offering a soft, almost ethereal backdrop that allows the figure to stand out more prominently. The brushstrokes in the background are loose and impressionistic, contrasting with the more detailed and carefully rendered treatment of the woman's face and scarf. This juxtaposition enhances the emotive strength of her portrayal, focusing attention on her expression and the vivid colors of her attire.

"My name is Agnė Mitkutė. I am a graduate in graphic/industrial design, but still looking for myself. I'm the kind of person who likes a little bit of everything in life. Art is a beloved hobby that pushes me forward in all aspects of my work. Photography, painting, make-up, make-up...

For me, art is freedom, because I can't put myself in a box and make it a permanent job. I only paint when I need to relax and only what I find comfortable, peaceful, beautiful and gives me good emotions. Painting helps me to concentrate and to completely "unplug" my brain. Since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated by the history of Egypt, the patterns of India, the music, the tranquillity of Thailand... Although I haven't been there yet, it's all very close to my heart... I feel like I really lived there in my past life! The rich, bright colours, the glitter, the warmth... it all surrounds me," the author introduces herself.

Agne's repertoire is dominated by portraits pulsating with exotic rhythms and the colours. Through them, the beauty of man and the joy of life are revealed.
