More about this artwork

In the image, there’s an illustration of a boy seated on a tricycle. He has detailed, large, curious eyes and sports a cap-like hairstyle made of many small, conical shapes that give the appearance of tight curls. The boy is sucking on a long piece of candy, looking content and ready for a leisurely ride. His outfit suggests a playful approach to adventure; he wears a bib overall atop a striped shirt, legs covered in striped socks that match the patterns on his sleeves, and strapped, dark shoes suitable for pedaling. His tricycle is quaint and traditional, with solid, star-patterned wheels and a simple frame. Most noticeable is the backpack he carries, overflowing with bright, round, pink objects resembling either balloons or fruits, adding both a burst of color and a sense of whimsical preparedness for his journey. The image radiates a charming blend of innocence and a spirit of exploration. The artistic style is delicate and intricate, playing wonderfully with textures and shades to highlight the dreamy, storybook quality of the scene.

Gražvydas Andrijauskaitė's field of work is quite broad - from characterful images of animals, cheerful children to mysterious, multi-layered portraits of women, but all of them are united by their meticulous execution, attention to detail and decorative quality. The artist combines her skilful drawing with various ornaments and patterns, but never overdoes it, maintaining elegance and delicacy.

Most of Gražyvda's characters are reminiscent of fairy tale characters, imaginary childhood friends, something familiar and at the same time unseen. All of them are shrouded in mystery, created by the technique of multi-layer printing, but each one of them tells his or her own story through symbolic details.

Since 1997, the artist has successfully participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
