More about this artwork

The painting portrays a vivid and intricate cityscape nestled within a humanoid face, the city itself containing various tall, staggered buildings in tones of green and blue. This cluster of buildings rests just above the bridge of a nose, replacing where the eyes would normally be, suggesting a deep integration or perhaps a weighing down of the figure by the urban environment. Surrounding the central face are multiple vertical stripes filled with oval and circular patterns, evoking a sense of being enveloped or trapped by these repeated motifs. The overall atmosphere combines elements of both whimsy and melancholy, characterized by the use of saturated colors and the surreal composition that melds the abstract human form with the architectural.
