More about this artwork

This painting depicts an elaborate temple constructed in a vibrant red brick, accentuated with intricate architectural detailing and Gothic elements. The structure is embroiled in a dramatic scene, surrounded by dark, swirling waters indicative of a flood. In the foreground, a solemn statue, possibly Buddha or another serene figure, sits in a meditative pose, providing a peaceful contrast to the turbulent environment. The background reveals a tempestuous sky, heavy with storm clouds and an otherworldly glow emanating from what appears to be a moon or possibly an ethereal light. Flashes of lightning reveal hidden details in the darkness, suggesting the power and fury of nature. The palette is dominated by deep reds and ominous grays, contributing to a sense of imminent danger and mystic reverence. Through the chaos, the temple stands resilient, a bastion of calm and spiritual dedication amidst the elemental wrath.

Vytautas Koženiauskas Norberto born in 1958. Citizen of Kaunas in the 4th generation, who has a wonderful family. Since 2010 a member of Lithuanian Union of Craftsmen and Artists.

I was fond of drawing and painting since childhood, and remember myself doing it everywhere even during math lessons.

When my children got older I started to paint on canvas and finally could find more time for my passion.

I was eager to create my own technique using different paints, earth, clay, herbs, rust, paper and wood. So this was the way I made my paintings. Nowadays I still prefer my own technique.

The highest appreciation for me is when people decorate their houses with my paintings which inspires me to create futher.
