More about this artwork

The painting showcases a vibrant array of sunflowers immersed in a dream-like backdrop of blues and greens, evoking a sense of both warmth and mystique. The sunflowers are rendered with great detail, especially in the fiery gold and amber petals that contrast strikingly against their rich, dark brown centers. The leaves appear slightly wilted, curved at their edges, suggesting the effect of intense heat. This scene is set against a swirling pattern of the background, with hues reminiscent of a cooling current or gentle breeze, offering a stark contrast to the striking warmth conveyed by the blooms. Further depth is added by subtle shadows and highlights, intensifying the interplay of light and temperature depicted within this artistic composition.

Artist

Laura Aitmanė was born in 1987.In 2010 she graduated from the Kaunas Faculty of Arts of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, majoring in architecture, and in 2012 - from the Kaunas University of Technology, majoring in architecture.

Her favourite subject is nature. Landscapes, flowers, animals. She likes to watch birds, she is interested in the wild plants of Lithuania and this is naturally reflected in her paintings. Despite the different means of expression, Laura's style always remains expressive, sometimes even a little rough - this way the images of nature are conveyed without banal sweetness.

From 2020 onwards, the artist will hold solo exhibitions.
