More about this artwork

The painting depicts a whimsical scene featuring a young girl with blonde hair and a blue t-shirt, smiling broadly as she rides atop a giant paper airplane. The airplane glides through a vibrant sky painted in a smear of pastel colors—pinks, blues, and yellows blending into each other, suggesting either a sunrise or sunset. The body of the airplane is covered with newspaper clippings filled with indiscernible text, adding a textured and realistic effect to the otherwise imaginative scene. The cloud formations beneath the airplane are loosely sketched, enhancing the dreamlike quality of the painting. The overall impression is one of joyous freedom and childlike wonder.

Artist

MARIA GILIOVA. If it were a CV there would be written: master of creative industries, bachelor of art-design, art teacher qualification, art therapy practitioner, photographer. But as an ordinary person I am a mother of two most wonderful children. Their smile and laughter are basically the greatest asset and my victory. Although I am an artist by nature who searches for depth, feeling, beauty and meaning in every moment. I fiercely fight my inner battles, rethinking them in my work and sharing my insights with the world around me. I've been creating since I was little. A small piece of paper with a ballpoint pen on which various characters kept appearing down to the smallest details has been replaced by many tools. I like to experiment creatively but watercolor pencils and watercolors are my favorites. I like to travel and get to know the world, both external and in the depths of a person. I like deep conversations, walks in the forest, by the lake or the ocean. I don't like to rush I appreciate slow mornings, drinking coffee with milk and toasted nut syrup. I appreciate the creative process and what it opens up. I admire the unexpected. Often when creating I have no idea what the final result will be but it is always about me and the experiences, environment and situations in which I have been, I am or will be. I love books but I hardly find time for them at the moment. One of my biggest dreams is to travel the world while sitting on a motorcycle holding my hands around my husband. Now I understand that true creativity is born in simple everyday life and in the depths of the human heart. And for that you don't need to have a million diplomas, just an open heart and a curious eye.
