More about this artwork

In the painting, a slender cat is depicted from behind in a seated position, gazing upward. The cat's fur is rendered in strokes of brown and beige, giving it a textured and layered appearance. The animal's tail curves elegantly, creating a gentle swirl at the tip. The background is a muted cream, emphasizing the figure of the cat. The overall tone of the painting evokes a soft, natural feel, highlighted by the earthy hues and fluid lines used to portray the animal's form.

Artist

"I always dreamt of going to art school, but I had to go to music school, where I specialised in pedagogy. I had a hobby of felting, spinning and drawing on stones, and I wanted to realise my dream of painting on canvas. Many years later, I  started to paint. My aim in painting is to spread only good emotions, warmth and the will to live," says the artist.

Inessa's work is dominated by themes of plants and animals, horses and birds. The artist works under inspiration, rushing to materialise an idea before losing the original conception and emotion, which is why the works are expressive and dynamic. The artist chooses bright colours that symbolise the joy of life.
