More about this artwork

The artwork features a mechanical mask composed of various metallic and industrial components. The mask, centered within a circular frame, is constructed with layers of metal that include a rust-colored base, likely representing a weathered or aged effect. At the center is a vertical arrangement of silver and gold parts, adding contrast and depth. Notable elements include a set of dark blue goggles at the top, resembling eyes, and a prominent circular gear-like structure positioned like a mouth or respirator at the lower part. The gear’s teeth and a central axis suggest movement or functionality. Additional smaller gears, springs, and coiled wires contribute to the complexity and realistic feel of the mask, implying a fusion of the organic with the mechanical. On the left, a detached mechanism resembling an ear or auxiliary gadget contrasts with a streamlined, almost weapon-like appendage on the right. The outer ring of the frame includes measured markings, hinting at precision or the passage of time, which complements the overall apocalyptic and time-worn theme of the mask.
