More about this artwork

The painting captures a vibrant scene centered around two musicians. On the left, a figure cradles a large, deep red double bass, delicately maneuvering its bow. The musician, seemingly lost in a moment of deep contemplation or passion for their art, fades gently into an abstract, splattered background. Their form is elongated, ethereal, imbued with a touch of surrealism through the gilded patterns on their garments that shimmer against muted blues and deep earth tones. To the right, another musician stands, blowing into a golden saxophone. This figure's hair is a flaming orange, giving a sense of motion or intensity, standing in stark contrast to their more subdued saxophone partner. The saxophonist's body is adorned in similar, though perhaps slightly warmer, gilded patterns, reflecting perhaps the heat of the jazz being played.Behind these two main figures, slightly blurred and partially obscured, are smaller forms of people, likely an audience mingled in pairs or small groups. They appear as distant observers, enfolded in shadows of deep greens and blues punctuated by the same type of gold that decorates the musicians' clothes. The sense of movement suggested by splashes of bright color and dynamic strokes connects all elements of the scene, creating a harmonious yet mysteriously energetic atmosphere suggestive of a live jazz performance filled with emotion and engagement.

I was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1964, in the family of actors.

I am a self-taught painter and I often hear comments that my work cannot be assigned to any particular school or trend of painting. I have been painting for as long as I can remember. I had my first solo exhibition when I was 8, and it was held at the theatre where my mother worked. Painting means a lot to me and I enjoy the process immensely, and I am still in search of my unique style.

I have hold several personal exhibitions in various Lithuanian cities.

My paintings have been acquired by collectors in Lithuania, Ireland, Norway, and USA.
