More about this artwork

The painting depicts a serene, narrow street flanked by old European buildings with visible aging on their facades. The architecture suggests a quaint, historical setting, possibly in a European town. The perspective draws the viewer's eye down the cobblestone road, which bends slightly out of view, adding a hint of mystery to where it might lead. The buildings are rendered in muted earth tones, and the windows appear small and sparse, emphasizing the buildings' antique charm. The sky, filled with soft, voluminous clouds, suggests an overcast day, casting gentle light that softens the entire scene. It's a quiet moment captured, devoid of people and vehicles, evoking a sense of timeless solitude and calm.

“I have been working with watercolor since my studies. While studying, time was spent between the cozy streets and courtyards of the old town, portraying nature, the vibration of the old town, the play of light and are frozen in my watercolors.

I try to capture the cozy summer moments of Vilnius Old Town, so the warm air seems to be shaking.

In winter scenes, white thick snow sheets cover the old tiled roofs.

Other works capture short summer moments from the Lithuanian seaside in Nida, boats, wooden huts, and windsurfers. The sea shimmering in the marine artworks takes you to a carefree holiday summer, where there is peace and the sand of the dunes is falling between your fingers. You can smell the sea and hear the the waves.

Summer in Lithuania takes us to the old archaic village streets in the national parks. Surrounding nature, old wooden authentic architecture inspires the themes of heritage and history.

My works are dominated by soft pastel colors, balanced by small white areas, preserved like pearls, which are key elements when conveying space,” - says the artist.
