More about this artwork

The painting depicts an abstract, organic scene that seems immersed in shades of gray, black, and hints of green. It features a myriad of forms that resemble windswept vegetation, possibly reeds or grasses, bending and intertwining. The darker shapes could be shadows or the silhouettes of larger, possibly aquatic plants. The brushwork is loose, creating a sense of motion and spontaneity, evoking a blustery day on a coast where the elements meld water and air into a dynamic visual experience. The overall mood is somewhat moody and mysterious, leaving the interpretation open to the viewer's imagination.

Artist

Sigita belongs to the Lithuanian artists' younger generation. While receiving her education in the Kaunas Academy of Art, she keeps painting and eagerly seeking her unique way of expression. Sigita Dabulskytė likes to play with light, its reflections and scattering.

The artist uses a particularly bold, lively and expressive brushstroke, which prevents her works from becoming stagnant. Sigita's paintings have various themes: landscapes, enigmatic still lifes, imaginative play, but the most important thing is that the artist sees and conveys each theme in her own way, empathises with the nature she depicts, looks at still life from a unique angle, and analyses not only the colour palette, but also the mood and the state of mind itself.
