More about this artwork

The painting presents an abstract landscape in a vertical format, dominated by soft watercolor washes. Gentle hues of yellow and green blend together, creating a soothing and minimalist scene. The central feature, resembling a road, winds intricately from the foreground into the misty, undefined background. The path is not clearly defined, blurring into the surrounding fields or land, which are depicted in various shades of pale green and hints of blue. This creates a dream-like quality, almost as if the road is emerging from or disappearing into a delicate fog. The overall effect is tranquil and contemplative, allowing the viewer’s eye to meander slowly along the serpentine route, much like a quiet journey through a hazy landscape.

Artist

Sigita belongs to the Lithuanian artists' younger generation. While receiving her education in the Kaunas Academy of Art, she keeps painting and eagerly seeking her unique way of expression. Sigita Dabulskytė likes to play with light, its reflections and scattering.

The artist uses a particularly bold, lively and expressive brushstroke, which prevents her works from becoming stagnant. Sigita's paintings have various themes: landscapes, enigmatic still lifes, imaginative play, but the most important thing is that the artist sees and conveys each theme in her own way, empathises with the nature she depicts, looks at still life from a unique angle, and analyses not only the colour palette, but also the mood and the state of mind itself.
