More about this artwork

The painting captures a vibrant, impressionistic scene filled with exuberant colors that seem to dance across the canvas, mimicking the wild, untamed beauty of a blooming garden bathed in sunlight. The top portion of the artwork is dominated by warm yellows and soft whites, suggesting the glow of the September sun filtering through a canopy of trees. This light diffuses into an array of oranges, pinks, and greens below, where the colors become denser and more varied, blending into each other with both harmony and a sense of urgency.Bursts of blue and purple at the center draw the eye, offering a cool contrast to the surrounding warmth and hinting at shadows or perhaps the presence of water amidst the foliage. Strokes of red, maroon, and bright green create the feeling of flowers in peak bloom, their vivid hues standing out against the softer background tones. The entire scene is alive with motion; the strokes are swift and thickly applied, giving a texture that is almost tactile, as if one could feel the leaves and petals. This abstract interpretation invites the viewer to experience the essence of a late summer day—its warmth, color, and light—as well as the emotional uplift that such a scene imparts. The painting doesn't just depict a place; it evokes an atmosphere, one that is lush, radiant, and pulsating with life.

Artist

Junija (Yuna) Galejeva is an abstract oil painter from Lithuania. With a background in musicology, she approaches art with a musician's mindset, applying melodic movement and improvisation to her creations. Working with oils and acrylics on canvas, she explores color nuances and textures to craft emotive, rhythmic compositions. Intuitive pulsions lead her hand and brush into repetitive pattern-like compositions that expand on the canvas, opening up the viewer's field of vision. The touch is soft and meditative or vigorous and dynamic, according to Yuna's emotional inclinations. Either way, the artist welcomes us unreservedly into the intimacy of her psychological sphere, prompting a wave of instinctive associative responses.

Yuna's abstract paintings are a musical expression in visual form. The harmonious and delicate palette has a soothing contemplative aura that refreshes the senses. There is an emotional depth to the work which encourages active engagement with the viewer.

She currently resides in Vilnius, where she works as an editor for the national radio program LRT Klasika and as a lecturer on the history of baroque opera at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
