More about this artwork

This diptych features two panels rich in abstract forms and a subtle, dreamlike quality. The left panel is dominated by cool hues of blue and green, interspersed with patches of white and gray that suggest a mist-shrouded landscape or a series of undefined, softly merging shapes that could be floral or watery in essence. The overall effect is one of tranquility and gentle undulation, as if observing a scene veiled by early morning fog or reflected in a still pond. The right panel shifts slightly in mood through the use of darker blues and hints of orange, adding a sense of depth and warmth. A clear, linear element adorned with small, golden orbs stretches diagonally, possibly representing a vine or a celestial map with glowing points that could be stars or distant lights. This line acts as a visual connector tying the ambiguous forms together, leading the viewer’s eye across the canvas in a gentle arc. The interaction of light and shadow, along with the strategic placement of the orbs, imparts a mystical or cosmic quality, evoking a night sky or an otherworldly realm.Together, the panels of the diptych invite contemplation and open-ended interpretation, resonating with themes of nature, introspection, and the enigmatic beauty of the universe.

Živilė Vaičiukynienė - painter from Kaunas. For the author, artistic expression is the freedom to be oneself, to express the most beautiful thoughts and emotions that cannot be put into words.

The essential element of the artist's work is mystery. Whatever the object of her depiction, whether nature or man, or whether she distances herself from a particular object, the artist never reveals everything. The work remains uninhibited, free and easy. This impression is reinforced by a flowing, plastic undertone and gentle tonal transitions. The world she sees is magical, containing many intertwining layers and meanings, and is always bright.

She has been an active participant in the art market since 2007, taking part in annual plein-air painting workshops, group and solo exhibitions, and international plein-air exhibitions since 2015. Her paintings have travelled to Latvia, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain.
