More about this artwork

The painting depicts a ship cutting through water, revealed in a fragmented and sketch-like style. The vessel is crafted with delicate lines and clear contours, with the sails and masts intricately detailed, suggesting movement and resilience. The ship tilts slightly as if bracing against the wind, navigating an unseen ocean. The overall appearance is ethereal and almost ghostly, as if the ship emerges from a mist, reinforcing its identity as a "rescue ship" with an aura of solemnity and purpose. The surrounding area predominantly blank, focuses the viewer’s attention solely on the vessel, emphasizing its isolation and pivotal role in the imagined scenario.

I was born in 1977 in Ukmergė. I attended art school, graduated from Šiauliai University, Faculty of Fine Arts. I work in an art school. In my spare time I create miniatures. Since 2001 I have been participating in group exhibitions and plein air exhibitions. In 2022 I had a solo exhibition of my works.

For me, art is about being with myself, listening to myself, and often transforming my inner pain into something more positive. The themes of the miniatures are very diverse. They are different sensations, "heard" feelings. The drawings are made with different graphite pencils. Esoteric symbols, various signs, fantastic creatures, etc. can be seen in the drawings. The works are minimalist and illustrative. Only when you look deeper do the drawings open up. I try to make each work pulsate with light and to hamonise the human soul.
