More about this artwork

The painting "Seashore Labyrinths. Sunny" by Dalia Čistovaitė is composed of several panels, each depicting different aspects of a seashore environment through abstract and expressionist styles. The majority of the panels mimics natural wood grains with swirling patterns and subtle color variations, providing a sense of the natural textures of the shore and the water-worn woods. Among them, one panel stands out with a dark background and a detailed, almost floral blue pattern, creating a stark contrast with the other panels, perhaps representing the mysterious depths of the sea or a hidden flora on the shore. Another panel at the bottom vividly portrays sandy dunes with rounded, gentle forms under a bright, serene sky, suggesting the peaceful passing time at the shore. The variety in the panels stimulates contemplation on the diverse, intricate details one can observe in such natural settings. Together, they evoke a feeling of tranquility and the sprawling complexity of coastal ecosystems.

"The main theme that permeates the whole work is a human being and the protection of his soul, the twists and turns of spiritual quests, the discovery of experiences, the harmony between nature and a man. The  light in my paintings is both a symbol of the divine principle and an element of pictorial expression.  I use a variety of styles in my paintings - soft impressionism, abstract or a little bit of surrealism. My work is about how we all need that place, Paradise, where we can retreat from the day's work and the avalanche of information, to rest, to calm down, to look at ourselves and those around us and at the phenomena taking place in the world from a distance, to rethink our relationship with the people and events that are important to us. To be at peace with our soul and mind. And then plunge back into the flow of life, to live, create and change with new strength," says the artist, who creates light, calm and warm art. Her work aims to encourage the viewer to look at the world around us in a different, more sensitive way, to see it's bright side.
