More about this artwork

The painting depicts the historic Kaunas Town Hall, rendered in soft watercolors that emphasize the building’s elegant architecture. The Town Hall, with its prominent tower, stands gracefully against a muted, cloudy sky. Delicate shadows and highlights suggest a damp, reflective surface in front, possibly after rain, where a few figures are seen in the distance walking leisurely. The surrounding scenery is faintly sketched in, hinting at trees and other structures, all under an overcast sky. A branch in the upper left corner partially frames the scene, adding a touch of intimacy to the grandeur of the Town Hall. The artist's use of light and subtle color variations captures a quiet, almost melancholic atmosphere.
