More about this artwork

The painting presents a subdued yet evocative scene marked by a delicate interplay of textures and colors. It features a fragmentary view where layers of what appear to be peeling paint and patches, possibly wallpaper, suggest the decaying wall of an old house. The bottom part of the artwork shows a distinct, rougher texture, almost resembling a gritty, crumbling foundation or lower wall section stained by time and weather.Across the middle, a wavy, fabric-like form with a frilled edge stretches horizontally, rendered in a soft white and yellow tone, introducing a sense of gentle motion or drooping lament over the degrading backdrop. Superimposed and partially blended into the upper part are stylized floral patterns or ornamental motifs in a pale yellow hue, adding an element of faded grandeur or distant nostalgia to the scene. The color palette is chiefly a combination of earthy browns, muted blues, and touches of gray, underlaid with occasional hints of pastel blue and cream, contributing to a feeling of serene decay and historical resonance. The artwork conveys a rich texture and an almost palpable atmosphere of dilapidation juxtaposed with lingering traces of what once was a more vibrant and adorned existence.

"With my painting I want to show people that the world is wonderful, that life needs poetry. I want to draw attention to our little friends, to reveal the forgotten beauty of nature," says the artist.

The most frequent theme of the artist's work is the dog, and although we are used to saying that the dog is man's best friend, these paintings reveal a slightly different side of the relationship between man and his pet. The dog is usually depicted alone in the interior of the house or outside, where only the owner's shadow can be seen: "the animal is dependent on human activity and desires", says the artist, and she wonders whether it does not lose its essential connection with nature when the natural environment is replaced by an artificial one. The artist says that her greatest joy is when the viewer looks at her painting and remembers their pet.

In 2012, she graduated from the Master's degree in Painting at the Kaunas Faculty of Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts.

Since 2016 she has been a member of the Union of Artists.

The author holds solo exhibitions and participates in joint exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
