More about this artwork

The painting captures a vibrant, lush garden scene brimming with a variety of foliage and flowers. It portrays a dense cluster of plants, where broad, green leaves at the foreground mix with delicate, pastel-hued blossoms. In the midst of this lush greenery, tall, thin branches or stalks stand out, adorned with tiny red and white specks, suggesting blooming flowers or buds. The background seems slightly obscured by the thickness of the foliage, but hints of yellow and lighter green suggest depth and layers within this garden scene. The brushstrokes are expressive and loose, conveying a sense of wild growth and natural beauty. The overall effect is of a chaotic yet harmoniously colored woodland area, inviting and rich with life.

Artist

In 1993 I graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts with a specialty in architectural restoration. For many years I have worked as an interior designer. In my free time, I used to paint, and recently, watercolor painting has become a constant part of my life. It serves as a counterbalance to the strict lines, millimeters and centimeters in architectural drawings. I paint only in nature, because then I feel the warmth of the sun, the scent of rain mixed with wind, flowers of meadows and gardens, I hear the buzzing of bees, the voices of birds and I see the harmony of the diversity of colors. In my work I improvise, I do not sketch or arrange compositions beforehand. Compositions are born in the creative process by painting "here and now." My drawings are dominated by summer and flower motifs, as then I can freely play and splash with colors. I am delighted with randomness offered by watercolor, unpredictable blending of colors and shades, dripping of paint and the vibration of brushstrokes.
