More about this artwork

The picture displays a vibrant and expressive flower painting where vivid colors blend fluidly. Dominating the scene is a large, fiery orange-red bloom that stretches upwards, its petals unfurled with a sense of fierce movement, as if caught in a gentle breeze. This central flower is detailed with shades deepening into burgundy at the base, suggesting depth and giving the bloom a lively, three-dimensional feel. To its side, a softer, partially obscured flower appears in lighter yellow and orange hues, contributing to the composition's dynamic contrast. The background swirls with soft blues, grays, and faint hints of pink, resembling a dreamy sky or watercolor wash, which enhances the flowers' ethereal quality. Streaks of green imply stems or leaves, anchoring the flowers in a suggestion of natural space. The painting exudes an overall impressionistic style, focusing on color and light to evoke emotion rather than detailed realism.

Artist

I have been closely connected to art since childhood. I graduated from the Vilnius Justinas Vienožinskis Art School, the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium, majoring in painting. I defended my master's thesis in Art Education. For more than 10 years I have been working as a teacher in various public and private institutions.

I discovered painting on silk fifteen years ago quite unexpectedly. After trying to mould a tiny scarf, I became very fascinated with the process and have been painting on silk ever since. For me, it's about relaxation, forgetting about worries, wanting to try new techniques and being curious about how the finished work will look.  I have painted various accessories, scarves and shawls, ties, dresses, curtains and paintings. I have presented several collections of silk painted garments.

I was elected President of the Lithuanian Silk Painting Association from 2015 to 2018 and I am still an active member. I was the winner of the International Silk Painting Competition held in France. I am actively involved in artistic activities, various projects, performances, I have held 8 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 20 joint exhibitions. I am currently engaged in artistic activities at the Druskininkai Craft Centre "Menų kalvė".
